About the Company
Summit Corporation was founded by Leonard B. Foster in 1948. What started as a small business operating from a home basement has turned into one of the leading technological providers of surface finishing services. The company has long been considered the pioneer of reel-to-reel or continuous plating and today it remains one of the largest privately owned electroplating companies in the country. While changing ownership in 2005, SCA today is still a 100% family owned and operated business. We have approximately 100 dedicated employees, serving a diverse group of industries, including NADCAP approvals for Aerospace.
The manufacturing facility is located in Thomaston, Connecticut on the Naugatuck River, which is a renowned water body for improvement of environmental standards. The company participated as a key contributor in the first ever Total Mass Daily Loading (TMDL) initiative set forth by the EPA and the Connecticut DEEP. Summit Corporation made dramatic improvements to its effluent levels and the program has been a great success. We consider ourselves at SCA exceptional corporate citizens and stewards of the local environment.
